When St. Mary of the Falls
was founded, the United States was barely 78 years old,
Franklin Pierce was President and the Civil War was yet to be fought. In 1854
our first parishioners gathered for Mass on Sunday in a log school house which
belonged to the village. That small handful of Catholics could not have imagined
the growth of the Olmsted community as well as their Church in the years that
lay ahead. Now, 154 years later, our parish stands over 6,000 people strong. Our
2300+ families are composed of individuals from nearly every facet of life. We
are proud of our community and our Church, both of which have maintained their
connection to the past while at the same time heading into a future that is just
as uncertain for us as it was for those who gathered in that little school
house. We are prepared for tomorrow because we live by faith today - a faith in
Jesus Christ and a faith celebrated in the rich Tradition of the Catholic
Church.
This web site contains information about the life of our parish. It is dedicated to the many people who have made it possible for us to be where we are today. I hope you find the information helpful.

Thessalonians 5:16-18
"Rejoice always, never cease
praying, render constant thanks, such
is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
